Was there even a game on tonight?

Earlier this evening on ESPN 2, Bowling Green hosted Miami (Ohio) in a MAC matchup, but one would have never known it by listening to announcers Rece Davis, Lou Holtz, and Mark May. Throughout the entire duration of the game, these three guys talked about the upcoming game between Michigan and Ohio State. They spoke to at least two former Buckeyes and an ex-Wolverines' player. Lou and Mark both showed off their comparison chart and made their predictions. Davis read through a top ten list which stated the top ten reasons to watch the game on Saturday. It was unbelievable! All this talk and all this hype is almost making me nauseated, enough so that I'm uncertain that I even want to watch the game. ESPN has a tendency for doing this sort of thing, whether it be the Monday night games or a pre-season matchup between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Bowling Green played Miami (Ohio) tonight. Why in the world not focus on that game and show their players, coaches, and fans a bit of respect? We have all day Saturday to preview, to watch, and to make post-game comments regarding the game at the Horseshoe between #1 Ohio State and #2 Michigan. It's only Wednesday! Heck, these guys have been talking about this game since week 6 of the season! Tomorrow, West Virginia and Pittsburgh square off. Show them a bit of courtesy and respect by actually watching the game. It's not very courteous to fellow viewers at a movie theater to watch "Tommy Boy" on your laptop while "The Departed" is playing at the theater, now is it? It's not very considerate to start screaming the lyrics to the song "Pour Some Sugar On Me" at a Mariah Carey concert, now is it? The game starts at 2:30 on Saturday. There's even an early start to the pre-game show, which will start at 1:30, so "analysts" and "experts" have even more time to talk about this supposed title game in the regular season. Let's show some courtesy and respect to the football teams, coaches, and fans whom you broadcast and not go on watching "Tommy Boy" during a showing of "The Departed" or screaming lyrics to a Def Leppard song during a Mariah Carey concert. Just over two more days now. I think we can handle the wait.
