Week 13 NFL Picks and Results

Thursday
Baltimore at Cincinnati: I like how the Bengals are playing right now and with the game at home, I give them a slight edge over the Ravens.
Cincinnati 24 Baltimore 21
Cincinnati 13 Baltimore 7 (1-0)

Sunday
Minnesota at Chicago: How will quarterback Rex Grossman deal with the sudden urge in criticism by the media? Some are even calling for him to be replaced by back-up Brian Griese. Regardless of how Grossman plays in this game, the Bears' defense should stifle the Vikings' offense (or lack there of) enough to win in the end.
Chicago 17 Minnesota 3
Chicago 23 Minnesota 13 (2-0)

Tampa Bay at Pittsburgh: The Steelers would have to win all five of their remaining games to have a shot at making the playoffs. They went on a fantastic run to close out last year's campaign. Thankfully, their five-game run starts at home with Tampa, a game they should win.
Pittsburgh 21 Tampa Bay 13
Pittsburgh 20 Tampa Bay 3 (3-0)

Arizona at St. Louis: The Cards are starting to play better (that's not saying much...). I could potentially see an upset here, but am going to play it safe with the home team against the lowly Cards.
St. Louis 27 Arizona 24
Arizona 34 St. Louis 20 (3-1)

Indianapolis at Tennessee: The Titans gave the Colts huge fits last game. I'd like to believe that Indy has learned a few lessons since then. I'm going with Peyton and the Colts.
Indianapolis 28 Tennessee 17
Tennessee 20 Indianapolis 17 (3-2)

Jacksonville at Miami: Miami is playing the kind of ball they played toward the tail-end of their season a year ago. At home and playing the way they are, I look to see them keep it up and win another, this time against the always tough and hard-nosed Jaguars.
Miami 17 Jacksonville 10
Jacksonville 24 Miami 10 (3-3)

San Francisco at New Orleans: Even at 5-6 and nearly beating St. Louis a week ago to pull into second place in the NFC West, a game back of Seattle, it's still hard for me to see the Niners being very good. I look for the Saints to win again at home.
New Orleans 31 San Francisco 17
New Orleans 34 San Francisco 10 (4-3)

Atlanta at Washington: Will the incident from a week ago be a costly distraction for the struggling Falcons or will they come together? With John Abraham and Ed Hartwell becoming more healthy on a weekly basis and receiving more playing time because of that, I look for the defense to step it up a notch like they did in the first couple weeks to pull out a desperately needed win by the Falcons.
Atlanta 24 Washington 17
Atlanta 24 Washington 14 (5-3)

Kansas City at Cleveland: Cleveland is no pushover, but with the way the Chiefs have been playing of late, I look for KC to roll into Cleveland with little to no problems and come out with the W.
Kansas City 24 Cleveland 14
Cleveland 31 Kansas City 28 OT (5-4)

Detroit at New England: Do I even have to go into this one much? The Pats at Foxboro against the Lions? Eh. I'm going with the Pats.
New England 28 Detroit 10
New England 28 Detroit 21 (6-4)

San Diego at Buffalo: Buffalo has been one of the most unpredictable teams in the league this year, as they stand at 5-6 heading into the game with the Chargers. I'm very tempted to take them at home in their cold environment against a team that reigns from San Diego, but with LT in the backfield, it's tough for me to do that.
San Diego 17 Buffalo 14
San Diego 24 Buffalo 21 (7-4)

NY Jets at Green Bay: Brett Favre at home in December? Yeah, I think I'll give him the odds here.
Green Bay 28 NY Jets 24
NY Jets 38 Green Bay 10 (7-5)

Dallas at NY Giants: There are loads of distractions on the New York sideline and Dallas is playing some of their best ball of the season. I'm frankly tired of hearing about Tony Romo, but until the guy plays horrendously, the media is going to ride his bandwagon and that ride won't end this Sunday.
Dallas 28 NY Giants 21
Dallas 23 NY Giants 20 (8-5)

Houston at Oakland: The showdown we've all been waiting for! Allright, maybe not. Either way, I'm going with the Texans and their Carr to Johnson combination over the Raiders.
Houston 17 Oakland 10
Houston 23 Oakland 14 (9-5)

Seattle at Denver: A rookie quarterback getting his first game against the defending NFC Champions? Good luck kid. I'm going with the Seahawks.
Seattle 17 Denver 10
Seattle 23 Denver 20 (10-5)

Monday
Carolina at Philadelphia: Without Donovan McNabb at quarterback, I'm having trouble believing that Philly can beat the Panthers anytime soon.
Carolina 24 Philadelphia 10
Philadelphia 27 Carolina 24 (10-6)

Week 13 Record: 10-6 (.625)
Overall Record: 112-78 (.589)
