The Blind Complain About the Hybrid
That's right. Those who can not see...anything, let alone drive (although, I did watch "Sneakers" last night and Whistler drove...sort of, with the guidance of Robert Redford), are complaining that the Hybrid automobiles are too quiet. Even a woman who has 20/20 vision when she wears her glasses has claimed to have almost been hit by Hybrids on two separate occasions.
There's always someone that has to complain, isn't there? Perfection shouldn't even be a word, except in bowling and baseball. Hybrids are very gas efficient automobiles and pollute the environment less than the average vehicle, BUT... they're too quiet! I have to be honest, this is the first time I've ever heard/read people complain about the silence of an automobile. Typically, I hear complaints in regard to it being too noisy, whether it be the muffler, a few extra gadgets a person has infiltrated into the car, or a stereo system with subwoofers, when it comes to the volume of sound in a car, I usually hear the complaints surround its excessive noise.
Well, fear not blind people or Hybrid owners, for I have thought up a solution to the problem! Instead of the blind walking about on their own and potentially being struck by one of these quiet beasts, the Hybrid should start a cab service for the blind! Wait a second...then, that may make them even more prone to being hit. Hmm... Okay. How about this? The cab driver must call the customer (blind person) 5-10 minutes ahead of time and ask him/her to politely wait on their porch/driveway/etc. and the driver will do everything in his/her power not to hit the visually impaired. There, I think that settles it.
