Draft Grades (NFC East)
Dallas Cowboys- Dallas made a very safe pick in attaining Ohio State outside linebacker Bobby Carpenter in the first round. Tight end Anthony Fasano was taken in the 2nd round, which was a bit surprising. They grabbed an LSU receiver and special teams playmaker in Skyler Green. They also picked up Louisville defensive tackle Montavious Stanley. Carpenter was a good pick and Green could benefit in the special teams game, but other than that, Dallas didn't make too many great decisions in the draft. Grade- C
New York Giants- Paul Tagilabue's last name to say at the draft was the Giants' choosing of Mathias Kiwanuka, defensive end from Boston College. The Giants are loaded at d-end. Perhaps with Michael Strahan not getting any younger influenced this pick. The Giants then picked speedy Miami receiver Sinorice Moss, giving Eli another target alongside Plaxico Burress and Jeremy Shockey. The Giants also got a steal in the 4th round, attaining East Carolina tackle Guy Whimper. While it was not the most efficient draft, the Giants did themselves well. Grade- B
Philadelphia Eagles- Philly did themselves well with their first couple of picks, but didn't do much else the rest of the draft. They still don't have a deep threat for McNabb to throw to. But, they did upgrade their lines some, in drafting Florida State defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley and USC tackle Winston Justice. They did pick up Michigan wide receiver Jason Avant and Avant may catch a few balls down the middle, be a good receiver to pick up first downs, but he's not going to stretch the field vertically for McNabb. Grade- B-
Washington Redskins- The 'Skins did themselves well by drafting Miami outside linebacker Rocky McIntosh for, as Joe Gibbs said, "We just liked the guy's name." For anyone who watched the draft, Gibbs was probably the most entertaining interview. But, that's not going to compensate for their final four draft picks. Grade- C-
