Is It Sad/Bad?
I talked to an old friend of mine last night and told her about this funny DVD I bought my dad for Fathers Day, called "Bushisms." Just from looking at the title, I'm sure most people could tell what that video (disc) entails. This friend of mine briefly noted how sad (bad?) it was to make fun of the president so much. I couldn't really tell which of the "-ad" words she said. When she said it, the word sounded like a hybrid of the two (if that's possible).
Is it sad? I suppose so. I mean, I can't say I'm proud about so many jokes being said about our president's speaking and decision-making skills (or lack there of). I wasn't proud about how many jokes were told on a nightly basis about our ex-president's oval office adventure. But, the incident happened, some of the jokes were quite humorous, so it's only human to laugh. Unlike Clinton, who had a rather high approval rating through the turmoil, Dubya has not, so I think it's even cathartic to laugh at the guy as many of us tell ourselves "Only two more years!"
So, if my friend did indeed say "sad," then I can completely agree with her there, but if she said "bad," then I'd have to disagree mightily and tell her to take that stick out of her rear-end before it gets stuck. If we can't laugh at president's who do interns and can't say "subliminable" and "nucular," then that stick will get stuck up our you know what and we'll waddle about life in a very uncomfortable position.
