Bush Calls Out To Conspiracy Theorists
President Bush made a speech recently and referred to a document that said this:
Terrorism springs from "subcultures of conspiracy and misinformation," and that "terrorists recruit more effectively from populations whose information about the world is contaminated by falsehoods and corrupted by conspiracy theories. The distortions keep alive grievances and filter out facts that would challenge popular prejudices and self-serving propaganda."
This kind of makes me laugh and why? Well, read it very slowly. If terrorism springs from subcultures of misinformation, look no further than the man giving the speech and his cronies. If terrorists recruit more effectively from people who are lied to and corrupted on a regular basis by misinformation. Again, look no further than Bush himself. The Bush Administration has been doing a lot of this lately, making accusatory statements to certain groups of people when the same accusations could legitimately be laid upon them.
