The President Has A Plan, Eh?
Senator Conrad Burns claims that President Bush has a plan to win the war in Iraq, but that the president isn't going to come out with that plan at all.
Uh-huh. How long have we been hearing that? The Iraq war is 3+ years old and the "War on Terror" is 5+ years old. I've read recent reports that the troops will be in Iraq until at least 2010 and some predict they will be in Afghanistan for 20 years.
What was the plan initially? Protect the oil fields, build bases, and capture Saddam? Okay, but then someone must've spoken to Georgie boy about how awful it'd be to leave Iraq in the condition it was in, so he came up with the idea that we'll "spread Democracy to the Middle East." It doesn't look like that's going to work out so well (such a shocker, isn't it?).
So, now what? What's the plan? As many who have worked with the Bush Administration in the past have said, Bush and company didn't look much past the initial attacks and eventual capture of Saddam.
Every time someone has said this, Bush gets up in front of the nation and reiterates what he said a few months prior. The Phantom Plan. The Phantom Presidency would be much more soothing. If Bush's presidency never existed in the first place, just think of how much better off we'd be. I can dream, can't I? A Plan? Ha. The only plan the president evidently has is to endanger America by spreading hatred to other nations and endangering American citizens by stripping our rights. I've got a plan. Congress should grow some balls and impeach the guy! But knowing Congress (hopefully changing in '07), that won't be happening for at least another 2 1/2 months.
