Week 5 NFL Predictions

Sunday
Tennessee at Indianapolis: Even if Indy played all their coaches, scrubs, announcers, waterboys, and cheerleaders, they'd still win this game.
Indianapolis 42 Tennessee 10

Washington at NY Giants: With Clinton Portis back in the lineup, the once "Deadskins" have come back to life and should have no problems putting points up on the struggling Giants defense.
Washington 31 NY Giants 21

Detroit at Minnesota: The Lions just find ways to lose, don't they? They hold the 3-1 and defending NFC Champ Seattle Seahawks to 9 points in week 1, but they themselves only score 6. They put up 34 points last week against the Rams, but manage to allow 41. Expect that same sort of thing to happen again this week, when the Lions just do enough to lose.
Minnesota 21 Detroit 17

Tampa Bay at New Orleans: Until Cadillac Williams can get things going on the ground, I'm going to have a hard time picking the Bucs.
New Orleans 24 Tampa Bay 14

St. Louis at Green Bay: The Packers and Lions are in a heated battle for the doormat position of the NFC North. Even with a loss in this game, Green Bay should still be one up on the hapless Lions.
St. Louis 34 Green Bay 24

Miami at New England: I don't care who starts at quarterback for the Dolphins, whether it be Daunte Culpepper or Joey Harrington, the Pats will beat the sad O-Linemen of Miami and work a balanced offense to defeat the now 1-4 Dolphins.
New England 21 Miami 10

Buffalo at Chicago: This is not a game that Chicago should take lightly. Buffalo has a solid defense, an improved quarterback in J.P. Losman, and a talented group of skill position players. Even with that in mind, the Bears should win.
Chicago 21 Buffalo 14

Cleveland at Carolina: Cleveland's played some teams tough this year. They lost their opener to New Orleans by 5 and fell to Baltimore by 1 in a late comeback by the Ravens. They should give Carolina a game, but I'll take the Panthers at home to win their third straight.
Carolina 24 Cleveland 14

NY Jets at Jacksonville: I would take the Jets if the game was to be played in New York, but am having a hard time picking against the Jags at home.
Jacksonville 28 NY jets 21

Kansas City at Arizona: Can the Cards do anything right? I have a solution. Draft or trade for some quality O-Linemen! Kurt Warner got beat up in the first four games. Now it's Matt Leinart's turn. Good luck Matthew. You're going to need it.
Kansas City 24 Arizona 10

Oakland at San Francisco: Here's the bay matchup we've all been waiting for! Okay, not quite. Outside of last week's embarrassing 41-0 loss to the Chiefs, I've been more impressed with the 49ers this year than the Raiders. With the game in Frisco and the opponent being, well, the Raiders, I'll have to go with the home team here.
San Francisco 31 Oakland 17

Dallas at Philadelphia: Even though the game's in Philly, I'm going to go with my gut instinct on this one and pick the Cowboys.
Dallas 28 Philadelphia 24

Pittsburgh at San Diego: My head is telling me to go with the Chargers, since the game is at home and they've definitely played better ball than the Steelers thus far. But with all the criticism being lashed out against Pitt and their 1-2 start, particularly against quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, I think the Steelers will come into this game prepared and determined, enough so to come away with the win.
Pittsburgh 21 San Diego 17

Monday
Baltimore at Denver: The Ravens have gotten lucky the past couple weeks, winning both games against Cleveland and San Diego by a combined score of 31-28. With the game at home and a week extra to prepare, I'm going to give the slight edge to Denver.
Denver 17 Baltimore 13

Hey, thanks for the comment. I'm not quite sure I'm understanding your question. Maybe I'm just not reading it right. I'll ask some blogger friends and see what they think. I hope I can help.
