Vick and Falcons receive some good news, but the investigation is ongoing

News reports were released on Friday which claimed that Atlanta Falcons' quarterback, Michael Vick, probably won't be indicted in the federal probe. While suspicions increased following the feds' second raid of the Vick-owned Virginia home on Friday, there has been no concrete evidence to link Vick to the dog-fighting operation. No signature of his was found on any documents inside the home and while the feds' didn't release the names of the three individuals likely to be indicted, inside reports claim that Vick is not one of those three.

Vick is not out of the woods yet, as the investigation is ongoing, but he and the Falcons finally have something to feel decent about. Until Friday, not much developing information regarding the investigation had been reported in some time. This would be especially relieving to Vick and the Falcons if the feds made it known he wouldn't be indicted in the next month, as the pre-season starts in August.

While it may never be known what Vick knew or didn't know about the operation, he's innocent until proven guilty and there may not even be sufficient enough evidence to indict him, let alone charge and convict him. But, even if he gets through this situation unscathed, he will truly need to lives his life more carefully and distance himself from potentially troubled friends/family members. That may be easier said than done, but as I would hope he's learned this past year, when in the spotlight, those friends and family members can be much more of a burden than a blessing.
