Healthy, but boring
What am I talking about here? Routines. Well, it's said that one routine a day is healthy. A whole day that's routine, I can't say that's too healthy. Why is one routine a day healthy? Because, no matter how hectic, bad, or stressful the day is, there's always that time to relax, be comfortable, and where things are familiar. But, a whole day of it? Ugh.
This is why I could never work in a cubicle and why I pray that my books are successful. Every book would be something different, a new experience. The publicity routes taken and signing tours would provide excitement and new adventures every time out. Routines aren't always bad, but I like there to be balance in an average day, between routine and new/different.
Some love routine, though. If anything on any one day is out of the ordinary from what they're used to, then they go crazy. What a boring life that must be. From Monday through Friday and not much different on the weekends:
6:15- Wake up.
6:30- Shower and get ready for work.
7:00- Leave for work.
8:00- Arrive to work.
5:00- Leave work for home.
6:00- Arrive home.
6:30- Eat dinner.
7:00- Watch television.
10:00- Go to bed.
I'm getting bored and tired just writing that. I don't care how familiar and comfortable a life is with that much routine. Even if I got paid seven figures, I couldn't live like that.
