Apocalypse Tomorrow?

That's right, it's 6/6/06 tomorrow, the number of the beast. Is the world going to come to an end? Is life over as we know it?

Let's not get too carried away with this number. People have been saying the world is going to end or that Christ will come again for centuries now. So far, they've been wrong every single time. If the world doesn't end tomorrow, then some folk will cross that date off on their list and go to the next possible on their list of 1,426. What would the next date be? How about 7/7/07, the day that Christ returns? Christmas is always a popular date, even though that's not really Christ's actual birthday. Maybe he'd come back on his actual birthday to throw people all off, since not many are aware of when that day is. Maybe he'll come back on Good Thursday, since most people believe it to be Friday, again, to throw people off. What about Halloween? That'd be a day most wouldn't predict. When the Cubs win a World Series, that will be a direct indicator of the world coming to an end, but we're probably years away from that.

6/6/06 is just a number. In many ancient texts, this "beast" was actually Nero, because he was considered "the beast" at this point in history. So, just treat it like another Halloween. Eat candy, chocolate, watch scary movies ("The Omen" premieres tomorrow), dress up in costumes, and party! There's Friday the 13th, Halloween, and now 6/6/06 in our line of "scary" days. For those that are going to be extra frightened tomorrow, just stay inside, relax, pray, sit in one of those back massaging chairs, and watch some comedies or romantic comedies, whatever you're into. Don't worry, after 6/6/06 comes 6/7/06. It's just another day on the calendar, but if we can have fun with it, then why shouldn't we?
