John Bolton Is No Michael
No, he's no lyricist or singer. He doesn't have that long golden hair. He doesn't get teased in the movie "Office Space," because of his name. He is the U.S. Ambassador and has tried to state that there is a major difference between what the Israelis are doing to the Lebanese and vice versa.
Eight Canadian citizens died as a direct result of an Israeli air strike in Lebanon. What'd Bolton poetically say regarding this?
"I think it would be a mistake to ascribe moral equivalence to civilians who die as the direct result of malicious terrorist attacks" as opposed to Israel's as being "self-defense, which has had the tragic and unfortunate consequence of civilian deaths."
Okay then, so Michael, I mean, John, civilian deaths are allright in Lebanon, but not in Israel. Is that what you're trying to tell me? Civilian deaths are allright in Iraq, but not in the U.S., correct? Wait a second. Iraq didn't attack the U.S. on 9/11. So, are the civilian casualties in Iraq, as Bolton claims it to be, the result of "malicious terrorist attacks," since it's not in the name of self-defense? Hmm, isn't that interesting? I don't care what war or what country we're talking about, civilians deaths are very unfortunate and tragic. Just because a person or a family is at the wrong place at the wrong time does not mean they are any less worthy of being called victims or casualties of war as a person who dies in the name of a country or group of people defending themselves. I'm sorry John, but I'm quite glad you don't sing, because those lyrics would be dreadful.
