...And Then It Was 29
Yeah, that's right, according to the latest Harris Poll in the conservative Wall Street Journal, Bush's approval rating has fallen to 29%. This now ties him for 4th on the all-time list for lowest approval rating. Who's he died with? His Pa, George H.W. Bush, who had an all-time low of 29% approval rating. Only Jimmy Carter, Richard Nixon, and Harry Truman have had lower ratings during their tenure. At one time, Bush held the highest approval rating in recorded history. Directly following 9/11, he was at 90%! Nine in ten Americans approved of the guy, 90 in 100! Now, only 29 of 100 approve of him. It'd be quite a feat (not a good one) to be the president who set the mark for highest and lowest approval ratings in his two terms. Congratulations, Mr. President! Keep up the good work! You're doing a heck of a job, as your numbers indicate.
By the way, if the president is reading this,
George, I know you may not be the brightest crayon in the box, but, just so you know, approval ratings are nothing like golf scores. The lowest score does not win you any prize. I just thought I'd clarify that, in case he was confused about things.
