Suggestion For Bobby Cox

I doubt Atlanta Braves head coach Bobby Cox is much of a blogger, but if he is, I hope he checks this out.

Allright, Bobby, I truly respect you as a manager. I thought your job last year with the young team was your best yet. This year, the team is off to a bit of a slow start. You've fiddled a bit with the starting lineup, with platooning players, especially in the outfield and at first base. But, there is one move you haven't made that I'm confused about. Why is Marcus Giles still batting leadoff? He's had success at the two spot during his short career, batting behind Rafael Furcal. But, this year, he's hitting a measley .205 and that's unacceptable for a leadoff man. Meanwhile, you have a two-hitter, in Edgar Renteria, whose batting .340 and had a 24-game hitting streak going for him, until that was snapped last night. Why not switch the players in the batting order? Renteria is an extremely smart hitter, doesn't strike out much, and is very timely and clutch. Giles may not be comfortable in the leadoff role, but he's been a very successful two hole hitter. I truly think that Giles' numbers would go up if he was moved down to the two spot and that Renteria would be a more consistent and reliable leadoff man. Come on Bobby, this is a Braves fan talking. Trust me on this one. You won't be sorry!
