Back To .500 (Da Braves)

I know, exciting, isn't it? After starting the season a very disappointing 12-18, the Atlanta Braves have won 8 of their last 10 games to reach the .500 mark again, at 20-20. I'll probably jinx them now and would you look at that? They're down 1-0 in the first to Florida.

I've been a Braves fan for I don't know how long now. It doesn't seem to matter who they picked up in the off-season, who they lost, what their schedule looks like, or how many fans show up at the ballpark. They have won 14 consecutive NL East titles, but have this tendency of losing in the playoffs and losing early, the past few seasons.

This is now what I've come to expect, every season. Win the division title and don't even bother showing up in the playoffs. This year should be no different. I'll only believe differently if and when I see it happen.

Sportswriters, "experts," and analysts have been writing off the Braves winning their division for the past three years now (including this one). Some have finally given in and gone with my philosophy, that they won't believe any differently until they see it happen. But, others are very persistent on picking a team other than Atlanta to win the NL East every year, with the logic that it'll have to happen sometime.

Yeah, just like someday Michael Jordan will get old. Okay, I guess that did happen. So, yeah, maybe this will happen too, but like I said before, until it happens, I'm expecting the Braves to be atop the division at season's end.
