A Few Words To Those Protesting "The Da Vinci Code"

I'm all for protesting. If you truly believe this will help, then protest away. BUT, I've learned that when a group of people protests art or entertainment, it'll usually help the act that the group is protesting against.

Let me give a prime example. I went to see shock-rocker Marilyn Manson back on February 8th, 1997. Two days before the concert, the Mayor of Omaha stated on the news that parents should not allow their children to attend the concert. Guess what? The concert sold out the very next day. When people say, "You can't read this" or "You can't watch that" or "You can't listen to that," people are going to read, watch, or listen to what they were told not to. Why? To see what all the fuss is about and because people don't like being told what they can and cannot do.

So, those that decide to protest against the film, keep that in mind as you do so. I'm all for expressing yourself and letting your voice be known, but if you truly don't want people to see the film, I'd suggest to go about it in a different manner than by protesting, because that'll just make sales rise. The more protesting that occurs this week and weekend, the more you can be certain that "The Da Vinci Code" will debut at number 1 on the charts.

Hey, thanks for the kind and flattering comments. It's nice to know that I have one fan out there and in Lincoln of all places. Thanks again. Keep on reading, "to much time on my hands." I'll be posting a bunch tomorrow, I'm guessing (meaning Thursday).
