My Apologies To Joe Scarborough
No, I've never bashed on Scarborough. I've never even written an entire blog about him. But, a while back, I wrote a blog called "The Seven (Un)Wise Men" and it included quotes from my seven favorite (not really) people: Pat Robertson, James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, and Rush Limbaugh. I mentioned that I had attempted to find quotes from Chris Matthews, Oliver North, and Joe Scarborough, but failed to find any worth mentioning in the blog.
While I have read a few quotes from Matthews since then that I could include and have read a few articles surrounding Oliver North that irk me, I have yet to run into that with Scarborough.
In fact, just two nights ago, following "The Countdown," Scarborough opened his show with a segment called, "Is Bush an idiot?" He then played a few of Bush's smooth spoken lines (yes, they were anything but smooth) followed by a chat with political analysts John Fund and Lawrence O'Donnell. While they all seemed to agree that Bush's policies were more important and what should be discussed, Scarborough ended on the note that intelligence is important in the White House and that Bush may be the most incompetent president we've ever witnessed.
For those that don't know, Scarborough is a Republican and actually served in the House for a few years. While I am not a regular viewer of his show, from what I've seen, he seems to be a more honest and less vulgar force than the likes of Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity over at Fox News. Scarborough has even said that he's embarrassed to be a Republican. Even though I am no Republican, it's Republicans like him that I can actually sit down, listen to, and respect. So Joe, I apologize for even pondering about including you with the likes of Coulter and company. Now that I've said that, don't go on a Coulter rant anytime soon, or else I'll have to take back the blog apology.
